A multi-purpose tool for end-grain paring, cross grain, or rebate work. Unique lever cap with a pivoting knob lets you adjust the plane to fit your hand and preferred holding style. Through-hole in the body adds grip security. Adjustable toe allows the mouth to be narrowed for very fine shavings and minimum tear-out. A low bed angle of 15°, combined with a 25° blade bevel, results in a cutting angle of 40° for exceptional end-grain performance. Set screws along the side allow for accurate positioning of the blade as well as reinstallation without lateral adjustment. Stress-relieved ductile cast iron body is accurately machined and ground so that the sole and sides are flat and square. 7" long by 11/16" wide. (around 17,5 mm) Blade is 1/8" thick, made of either A2 tool steel. It is lapped on the non-bevel side to a flatness tolerance of 0.0002" or better over the working surface, and with an average roughness surface finish of 5 microinches (0.000005") or better.
